Booker Alternative Shortlist: 8 Platforms, 6 We Could Price in USD

By Roger Grekos, founder and editor, Twizzlo. Prices were read first-hand from each vendor's own website between September 8 and September 11, 2026.
Twizzlo publishes this page and sells software that competes with every vendor priced on it. Every competitor price this page states as fact is read from that vendor's own pricing page, with its qualifier, or recorded as not published or not fetched.
On 2026-09-08 Booker published one price, "Starting at $139", with no billing unit in visible copy, and "Let's talk" on every tier. Its owner Mindbody publishes "Starting at $79 USD/month per location". Square Appointments Plus bills $49 per month per location, Mangomint $120/mo base per location plus $10 per user per month, and Twizzlo $29.99 per month flat per business.
What is Booker, and who owns it?
Booker is salon and spa management software sold at booker.com. If you are shopping for a Booker alternative, the first fact worth knowing is not a feature. It is the ownership. The footer of booker.com/pricing reads "Copyright © 2026 MINDBODY, Inc." The same page lists Booker, Playlist, Mindbody and ClassPass as brands of one organization in its structured data. Booker is a Mindbody product. That matters more than it sounds.
Booker and Mindbody publish the same three plan names, Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate, on two separate pricing pages. Both pages replace the price on every tier with the same button, "Let's talk." Both sell the same marketplace listing. The Booker page says listing on the Mindbody app "is available to all Booker and Mindbody customers." So when a Booker renewal quote arrives higher than you expected, you are not being pushed toward a competitor. You are being priced inside a family. The useful Booker alternative question is a narrower one: is there anything outside this family that publishes a number you can plan around? That question has a clean answer, and it comes from arithmetic rather than opinion.
Every vendor price below was read from the vendor's own pricing page between September 8 and September 11, 2026. Figures from review sites and roundups appear only where this page checks them against the vendor's own page. Six of the eight alternatives covered publish a price we could read in US dollars. Two did not, and this page names which two rather than borrowing a number on their behalf. Twizzlo publishes this page and sells software that competes with every vendor priced on it, which is exactly why the sourcing rule is written down.
What does Booker's pricing page show?
Booker publishes exactly one price. The line sits under the headline on booker.com/pricing and reads: "Explore the features to find the plan that works for you. Starting at $139." That is the whole of it. Not $139 per month, not $139 per location, not $139 per staff member. The visible copy carries no billing unit at all. The unit exists in exactly one place on the page, and it is not the visible copy. Inside the machine readable structured data, the offer object records a price of 139 and a currency of USD. Its description reads "Booker pricing starts at $139 per month."
Below the headline on booker.com/pricing, all four tiers are priced the same way. Starter says "Let's talk." Accelerate says "Let's talk." Ultimate says "Let's talk." Enterprise says "Let's talk." There is no ladder, no per staff rate, no per location rate and no published add on price anywhere on the page.
Booker's feature grid still shows the shape of the plans, and it is worth reading closely before you shortlist any Booker alternative. Starter caps reporting at "Basic" and marks unlimited users as "Limited". Booker's own FAQ confirms it: "Accelerate and Ultimate include unlimited logins, while Starter includes a limited number of staff profiles." Starter also caps texts, offering "Send up to 3,000 text notifications & reminders".
Booker's grid closes marketing automations, reviews and referrals, and two way texting on Starter and Accelerate, and opens them only on Ultimate, whose card reads "Automate your email & text marketing." Messenger[ai], the chatbot, is an add on even on Ultimate. Booker's page never ties its "Starting at $139" line to a tier, and its grid and FAQ mark Starter as the only tier with limited staff profiles. Every capability that would push a busy spa toward Ultimate sits behind a sales call. For a busy spa, Ultimate's price is the number a Booker alternative has to be measured against, and it is the number Booker does not print.

Booker or Mindbody: what do the two sibling pricing pages show?
Before you look outside the family, look inside it. Put the two pages side by side and the sibling premium is plain. Mindbody's business pricing page publishes "Starting at $79 USD/month per location." Booker publishes "Starting at $139." Same parent company, same three tier names, same day, and a gap of sixty dollars a month at one location's entry point, reading Booker's figure as monthly, as its structured data does. The arithmetic: 139 minus 79 is 60. Over twelve months, 60 times 12 is 720. For one location, Booker's published floor is $720 a year above Mindbody's published floor.
As a ratio, 139 divided by 79 is 1.759, so at one location Booker's floor is about 75.9 percent higher than Mindbody's. Both are floors and neither is a quote: Mindbody's Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate cards all read "Let's talk" too, exactly as Booker's do. The second difference is the one that decides how your floor scales. Mindbody states its billing unit twice. The price line says "per location." The FAQ says "You get unlimited users per location," then adds, "Your subscription price increases based on adding new locations and not adding new people to existing locations." That is a complete counting rule. You can forecast a three site spa group's floor from it without calling anyone.
Booker states no billing unit in its visible copy at all. Not per location, not per business, not per staff member. Which means a two location spa cannot compute its own Booker floor from Booker's page, while the same spa can compute Mindbody's in about four seconds. Two pricing pages, one owner, one of them countable. If a published counting rule is what you are after, that alone narrows the Booker alternative field fast. If you are weighing a move inside the family, how Mindbody compares feature by feature lays out where that platform fits, and the studio side breakdown of Mindbody alternatives covers the same ground for studios rather than spas.
What do the real Booker alternatives cost, side by side?
Here are the prices this comparison uses, read first hand on 2026-09-08, each with the qualifier the vendor attached to it. The qualifier is the number. Strip it and the comparison stops meaning anything, which is exactly how one Booker alternative roundup checked below goes wrong.
Twizzlo publishes a flat $29.99 per month per business on Business Pro. That covers unlimited bookings, unlimited employees, unlimited locations and unlimited customers. It includes 50 SMS, then $0.03 per message, and carries a 30 day money back guarantee. The Free plan is $0 per month, permanent rather than a trial, capped at 150 bookings per month with no SMS.
Square Appointments publishes three tiers with the unit spelled out: Square Free at $0 per month per location, Square Plus at $49 per month per location and Square Premium at $149 per month per location. Square's own note reads, "With Square Plus and Square Premium, the monthly fee applies to each location you run." Card present processing runs 2.6% plus 15 cents, 2.5% plus 15 cents and 2.4% plus 15 cents per transaction across the three tiers. One forensic note on the trial length. The paid cards render "Try free for 30 days" in a browser, while a plain fetcher reads the page before hydration and sees an unresolved template token in that slot. The trial length is published. It is simply easy to misreport as missing.
GlossGenius publishes Standard at $28 monthly for one location, or $24 monthly billed annually. Gold is $56 monthly for one location, or $48 monthly billed annually, and is described as "Revenue-boosting features for businesses up to 9 staff." Platinum is $168 monthly for one location, or $148 monthly billed annually, for "teams 10+".
Mangomint publishes "$120/mo base + $10 per user," with locations at "$120/mo each." The $10 is a per-user charge per month, and its own calculator opens at "your price $130/mo", because the base carries no included user. Its FAQ defines the counting rule: "Anyone with a profile in Mangomint counts as a user. This includes any staff, like service providers and front desk employees." Front desk staff count. Processing is 2.45% plus 15 cents per successful transaction in person.
Boulevard publishes two price sets behind a billing toggle, and the toggle loads on Annually. In that default state, billed annually, Essentials is $140 per month per location, asterisked as a limited-time offer for new customers and shown as "Normally $176", its normal annual rate. Premier is $234 and Prestige $328, each a month per location billed annually on the same offer, normally $293 and $410.
On Boulevard's Monthly toggle, Essentials, Premier and Prestige read $156, $260 and $364 a month per location on the same limited-time new-customer offer, normally $195, $325 and $455. The asterisk reads, "Limited-time offer: Take advantage of our summer pricing. New customers only. Terms apply." So the $140 a month per location shown at load is an annually billed rate on a limited-time new customer promotion, and the month to month list price for the same tier is $195 a month per location.
Boulevard's Forms is a separate add on, "Starting $65 per month per location"; its Compare plans table, read on September 11, 2026, marks Forms as an add on for Essentials and Premier and included on Prestige. QuickBooks sync is "$45 per month per location". Boulevard also carries a separate medspa pricing tab, which we did not open, so no medspa figure is quoted here.
Zenoti is the one Booker alternative here that publishes no price at all. Its page fetched cleanly. Every plan button on its pricing page reads "Get a Quote," and its FAQ says multi location pricing "is customized based on your footprint and needs."
Fresha needs a correction this page owes its own readers. The URL our earlier draft cited, fresha.com/for-business/pricing, returns HTTP 200 while serving Fresha's own 404 page, which is why 104,496 bytes yielded 72 characters of readable text. That is a dead URL, not a JavaScript render, and calling it one was an inference dressed as an observation.
Fresha's live pricing page is fresha.com/pricing and it does publish prices, but it is geo served. From our connection on 2026-09-08 it returned the Canada edition: CA$29.95 per month for Independent, and CA$19.95 per bookable team member monthly for Team. Enterprise is on custom rates for businesses "with over 20 team members". No United States figure has been read first hand, so none is quoted here and no third party number has been substituted for one. Vagaro is absent for a related reason: vagaro.com/pro/pricing redirected our fetch to the Canadian page, and both United States paths we tried return HTTP 404, so no Vagaro figure appears anywhere on this page.

What do published prices show for a ten person spa?
Advertised prices are entry prices, and a spa with a full team may not fit the entry tier. So take one room, ten professionals on the floor, one location, and recompute using only the vendors' own published rules. GlossGenius advertises $28 a month, billed monthly, for one location. Gold, at $56 a month billed monthly, stops at "businesses up to 9 staff." Ten professionals land on Platinum at $168 a month billed monthly. The advertised number multiplies by six on the way to the tenth chair, which is the largest jump on this chart among the vendors that publish both figures.
Mangomint advertises a $120 monthly base per location. Ten users at $10 per user per month add $100 a month. The total is $220 per month, and remember that a front desk coordinator is a user under Mangomint's own definition, so a ten provider salon with two coordinators is really twelve users at $240 a month.
Boulevard advertises $140 per month per location billed annually, or $156 month to month, both on summer promotional pricing for new customers. Essentials includes "Up to 5 professionals." Ten professionals require Premier, at $234 a month per location billed annually or $260 month to month under the same promotion, normally $293 a month billed annually and $325 month to month. Advertised to usable is a 67 percent step on either billing term.
Square Appointments Plus stays at $49 per month per location, because Square's feature table, read on September 10, 2026, marks "Unlimited calendars" on every tier. That row includes Square Free, so on subscription alone Square Free also covers ten professionals, at $0 per month per location. Mindbody's published floor holds at "Starting at $79 USD/month per location", because users are unlimited per location, though every Mindbody tier is quoted by sales call, so treat $79 as a minimum rather than a bill. Twizzlo stays at $29.99 per month for the business, because employees, locations and bookings are all unlimited on Business Pro.
Booker's ten-person price cannot be placed on this chart. Its one published number is $139, and neither plan that lifts the staff profile cap has a published price. That is not a criticism of the software. It is a statement about what you can and cannot verify before a sales call, and it is worth checking for any Booker alternative you are weighing against it. If per seat creep is what pushed you to search in the first place, we wrote about the mechanics in appointment software with no seat fees and in flat rate booking that does not climb with headcount.
What happens when you add a second and third location?
Multi site is where a billing unit stops being trivia. Run each vendor's published rule across one, three and ten locations and the lines separate fast. No figure here uses an annual-billing discount, so the terms stay comparable. At three locations, Square Plus is 49 times 3, or $147 per month. Mindbody's published floor gives at least 79 times 3, or $237 per month. Mangomint is 120 times 3, or $360 per month before any user is counted. Boulevard Essentials, per location month to month, is 156 times 3, or $468 per month on the summer promotion for new customers, and 195 times 3, or $585 per month, at the normal rate. Twizzlo is $29.99 a month, because the flat fee covers the business rather than the site.
GlossGenius publishes a multi site rule too, and it is the only discounted one on this page: "*Each additional location is charged the plan price, at a 15% discount." On Standard at $28 a month billed monthly that is $23.80 a month for every site after the first, so three locations is 28 plus 2 times 23.80, or $75.60 a month. Standard has no Staff Management. The Staff Management row in GlossGenius's Compare plans table, read on September 11, 2026, shows the not-included mark on Standard and "Teams of less than 10" on Gold.
At ten locations the vendors' rules give these monthly subscriptions: $490 for Square Plus, at least $790 for Mindbody and $1,200 for Mangomint before users. Boulevard Essentials is $1,560 at $156 a month per location, month to month, on its limited-time summer offer for new customers. GlossGenius Standard comes to $242.20 a month, and Twizzlo stays at $29.99 a month. On subscription alone, every paid plan above passes Twizzlo at one location except GlossGenius Standard, while Square Free, at $0 per month per location, never does. At $28 billed monthly it is $1.99 a month under Twizzlo for a single site, and it passes Twizzlo at the second location, at $51.80 a month, still without Staff Management. The counting rule, not the feature list, widens the gap with each site.
Booker cannot be plotted across locations. Its visible copy never says what the $139 buys a unit of. A two site day spa reading booker.com/pricing has no way to know whether its bill doubles or stays flat. This is the practical test to apply to every Booker alternative on your list. Ask the vendor to write down, in an email, the unit and the counting rule: per business, per location, per staff profile, per bookable calendar, or per user including front desk. Then multiply it by your real headcount and your real site count before you look at a demo. Our questions to ask about multi location scheduling catch the expensive surprises early.
Where do three pages ranking for Booker alternative get the numbers wrong?
Here is what three of the pages ranking for Booker alternative say, checked against the vendors' own pages on 2026-09-08. thesalonbusiness.com/booker-alternatives/ says Booker's "monthly costs easily creep into the $450-and-up range". Booker's own pricing page publishes one number, $139, and shows "Let's talk" on every tier including Enterprise. No figure of $450, and no dollar figure above $139, appears on booker.com/pricing. The claim may reflect a real sales quote, but nothing on the vendor's page supports it, and the page gives readers no way to check.
thesalonbusiness.com/booker-alternatives/ prints Square's per-transaction processing fee as "2.6% + 10¢". Square's own pricing page shows 2.6% plus 15 cents on the free tier, 2.5% plus 15 cents on Plus and 2.4% plus 15 cents on Premium, under a "Tap, dip, or swipe" label first read on September 10, 2026. Five cents per transaction sounds small. At 1,500 card transactions a month it is $75 a month, or $900 a year, of quiet error.
thesalonbusiness.com/booker-alternatives/ compares Booker against Mindbody and Vagaro, then says of Booker that "its plans use the exact same pricing model as Mindbody." Read the source sentence and the subject of "its" is Booker, not Vagaro. The two pages do not show the same pricing model. Mindbody publishes "Starting at $79 USD/month per location" and writes its counting rule out twice. Booker publishes "Starting at $139" with no billing unit in visible copy at all. Same parent, same tier names, different published model. softwaresuggest.com/booker/alternatives lists MINDBODY at "Starting Price: $75 Per Month". Mindbody's own page says "Starting at $79 USD/month per location". The figure is four dollars below Mindbody's own and, worse, the two most important words are gone. Without "per location" a reader with three sites, even working from the correct $79, underestimates the floor by $158 a month.
thedigitalmerchant.com/booker-software-alternatives/ prices Boulevard at "$425/month, everything included". Boulevard's own page publishes $140, $234 and $328 per month per location billed annually, or $156, $260 and $364 month to month, all on a new customer summer promotion. The normal rates are $176, $293 and $410 a month per location billed annually, and $195, $325 and $455 monthly. None of those twelve figures is $425. "Everything included" is contradicted on the same page, where Forms starts at $65 per month per location on Essentials and Premier, as read on September 11, 2026, and QuickBooks sync is $45 per month per location.
thedigitalmerchant.com prices Square teams at "$45+/month", where Square publishes Square Plus at $49 and Square Premium at $149, both per month per location. One thing that page gets right, and it deserves saying: it reports "Booker starts at $139", which matches Booker exactly. A Booker alternative roundup can be accurate. All three roundups print at least one figure that the vendor's own page does not support.
Where does Twizzlo fit, and where does it not?
Twizzlo is a flat rate booking platform. Business Pro is $29.99 per month for the business, with unlimited bookings, employees, locations and customers, 50 SMS included and $0.03 per message after that, and a 30 day money back guarantee. The Free plan is genuinely permanent at $0 per month, capped at 150 bookings per month, with no SMS. Payments run through Stripe.
Twizzlo is a real Booker alternative for one specific shape of business. That business is a spa or salon whose pain is a rising per seat or per location bill. Its daily need is booking, reminders, payments and a client list that behaves. If that is you, our booking software built for treatment rooms is the right place to start, and what Twizzlo charges on top of Stripe sets out the platform fee before you sign up rather than after.
Now the honest part: what Twizzlo does not do, which a price comparison cannot show. Twizzlo has no retail inventory. Booker, Mindbody, Mangomint, GlossGenius and Boulevard all ship it. Booker's feature grid reads "Manage your team, schedule, inventory, and revenue with confidence", Mangomint lists "Retail & Inventory" inside what its plan includes, and GlossGenius lists "Inventory & Retail Management" on its Standard card. Boulevard's compare plans table, read on September 10, 2026, carries an inventory management section. It marks product catalog, quantity tracking, adjustments and shrinkage reporting on Essentials, Premier and Prestige, and prepaid product units and purchase orders on Premier and Prestige only. If you sell product off a shelf and reconcile stock, Twizzlo is a hard stop.
Twizzlo has no membership autopay and no package builder. A day spa running monthly membership billing cannot replace that here. Mangomint lists "Memberships & Packages" in what its single plan includes, and Mindbody builds around recurring revenue. Twizzlo has no payroll and no commissions. GlossGenius sells Platinum on "Customizable commissions". Mangomint's pricing FAQ, read on September 8 and again on September 11, 2026, says its Payroll add-on "starts at $50 per month plus $8 per worker"; the page gives the per-worker charge no time unit. Booker's pricing page never uses the words payroll or commission, so this page makes no claim about what Booker does there. A commission based salon leaving Booker should not shortlist Twizzlo.
Twizzlo has no POS hardware, no marketing automation suite and no charting or SOAP notes. A medspa needs charting, and there is none here. Twizzlo also does not publish a card processing rate, which, given how much of this page is about published numbers, is worth stating rather than skipping. If those gaps rule you out, that is the correct outcome. The spa POS system guide covers the retail side, and if retail and treatment rooms are the core of the business, the heavier platforms above are the honest recommendation.
How do you switch off Booker without losing your book?
Pricing decides your Booker alternative shortlist. Migration decides whether the switch is survivable, and the one first hand migration fact on Booker's own page is a sentence that lists nothing. Booker's FAQ says conversion "of many data types is included at no extra charge, so contact a sales rep and ask how we can help you transfer to Booker." Which data types is not stated.
Mangomint's pricing page FAQ lists what it can transfer: "We can transfer clients, products, and gift cards, and in many cases additional things like notes, services, transaction and appointment history." Ask your finalist for that list in writing, because what does not come across is what costs you week one. Then get four answers in an email rather than on a call. What is the billing unit, per business, per location, per staff profile or per user including front desk? How many staff and how many locations are included before the price changes? Which data types migrate and which do not? What notice does cancellation require?
Mindbody's own FAQ says cancellation "may require advance notice based on your agreement", which is a term only your own contract can settle, so read that rather than an article, including this one. Last, run both systems in parallel for two weeks. Keep Booker taking bookings while the new calendar fills beside it. One extra month of subscription buys that overlap, and it shows whether the counting rule you were quoted survives contact with a real week. When you compare finalists, our Square Appointments comparison and the software shortlist for massage practices are two places to start.
Prices in this article were read from each vendor's own website between September 8 and September 11, 2026, and they will drift, so check the vendor's page before you buy. If a flat rate fits how you are growing, start with Twizzlo's spa booking software and test it on the free plan.
Frequently asked questions
Is Booker owned by Mindbody?+
Yes. The footer of booker.com/pricing reads "Copyright © 2026 MINDBODY, Inc." on our fetch of 2026-09-08, and the page's structured data lists Booker, Playlist, Mindbody and ClassPass as brands of the same organization. Booker's own FAQ also confirms that Booker customers list on the Mindbody consumer app.
How much does Booker cost per month?+
Booker publishes one figure: "Starting at $139". The visible copy attaches no billing unit to it. Only the page's structured data records "Booker pricing starts at $139 per month" in USD. Starter, Accelerate, Ultimate and Enterprise all show "Let's talk" instead of a price, so no tier ladder is published at all.
Why is Booker's published floor higher than Mindbody's if the same company owns both?+
We can only report what each page says, not why. On 2026-09-08 Booker published "Starting at $139", with no unit in visible copy, though its structured data says per month, and Mindbody published "Starting at $79 USD/month per location". Read as monthly, that is a $60 monthly gap at one location, or $720 a year, between two published floors, on two products carrying identical tier names.
Which Booker alternative is cheapest for a solo therapist?+
On published subscription prices, two plans share the $0 floor: Twizzlo's Free plan at $0 per month, capped at 150 bookings monthly with no SMS, and Square Free at $0 per month per location. Card processing is charged on top of both. GlossGenius Standard is $28 monthly for one location, or $24 monthly billed annually. Compare the caps and processing fees closely.
Which Booker alternative works best for a ten person spa?+
That depends on retail and memberships. On published rules, Square Appointments Plus holds at $49 per month per location, and Square's feature table, read on September 10, 2026, marks "Unlimited calendars" on every tier. That includes Square Free, so on subscription alone Square Free also covers ten professionals, at $0 per month per location. Mindbody's floor holds at "Starting at $79 USD/month per location", with unlimited users per location. At one location, GlossGenius jumps to $168 a month billed monthly at ten staff, and Mangomint reaches $220 per month for ten users. Boulevard Premier is $260 per month per location month to month on summer promotional pricing for new customers, or $234 a month billed annually, against normal rates of $325 month to month and $293 a month billed annually.
Does Fresha publish pricing I can compare against Booker?+
Yes, at fresha.com/pricing, but not in United States dollars from here. The URL our earlier draft cited, fresha.com/for-business/pricing, returns HTTP 200 while serving Fresha's own 404 page, so it served no pricing page when fetched. The live page is geo served and gave us the Canada edition on 2026-09-08. We publish no United States Fresha figure rather than borrow one.
Does Zenoti publish a price?+
No. We fetched zenoti.com pricing on 2026-09-08 and read the full page text, including its FAQ. Every plan button reads "Get a Quote", and the FAQ says multi location pricing "is customized based on your footprint and needs". That is a fetched observation about a page that rendered in full. Fresha differs because it does publish prices, just not in United States dollars from here.
What should I ask a vendor before switching off Booker?+
Ask four questions in writing. What is the billing unit, per business, per location or per user? How many staff are included before the price changes? Which data types migrate and which do not? What notice does cancellation require? Compare the answers before you sign.
