Best Massage Software in 2026: What Each Plan Really Costs
In short
The best massage software depends on whether you chart. On vendors' own pricing pages read September 25 and 28, 2026, entry plans started at $20 a month (MassageBook Transition, Acuity Scheduling Starter), with Noterro Core at $33 for charting. ClinicSense Lite and Jane Balance cap you at 20 appointments a month, and ClinicSense's next plan costs $69.
- ClinicSense Lite and Jane Balance cap entry plans at 20 appointments a month, about five a week (read September 28, 2026).
- Acuity Scheduling's $20 Starter sends email reminders only; texts start on Standard at $34 (read September 25, 2026).
- At three therapists, subscriptions run from $34 (Acuity Scheduling Standard) to $109 (ClinicSense Standard), read September 25 and 28, 2026.

Choosing the best massage software comes down to two questions: do you want treatment notes inside the tool, and how many therapists will you book? The best software for massage therapists who chart is rarely the cheapest for those who only take bookings. We read each vendor’s own pricing page and priced the plan a full-time therapist can use, then the cost for one to eight therapists.
The same two questions apply whether you shortlist a charting platform or dedicated massage therapy scheduling software.
What is the best massage software in 2026?
There is no single best massage software; the right pick depends on whether you chart. Read on each vendor’s pricing page on September 25 and 28, 2026, entry plans started at $20 a month and ran to $39 for ClinicSense Lite, and two charting platforms cap that plan at 20 appointments a month.
Table 1. Entry plans for one therapist: US pricing, monthly billing. Sources: MassageBook’s pricing page, Acuity Scheduling’s pricing page, Vagaro’s US help center, Noterro’s pricing page, ClinicSense’s pricing page and Jane’s pricing page. Acuity Scheduling and Vagaro were read September 25, 2026, and the others September 28, 2026.
| Platform | Entry plan, monthly | What the entry plan limits | Notes on the entry plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| MassageBook | $20 Transition | No appointment cap printed | Basic SOAP notes, online booking and a directory listing; text and email reminders start on Practice ($59) |
| Acuity Scheduling | $20 Starter | 1 calendar | Email reminders; text reminders start on Standard ($34, up to 6 calendars) |
| Vagaro | $23.99, a limited-time rate | 1 bookable calendar included | $10 per added calendar up to seven licenses; list price not printed |
| Noterro | $33 Core | 1 practitioner seat | Charting and email reminders; text and call reminders start on Plus ($55) |
| ClinicSense | $39 Lite | 20 appointments a month; no added practitioners | SOAP notes and email reminders; SMS reminders start on Standard ($69) |
| Jane | Balance: no price printed here | Single practitioner profile, 20 appointments a month | Charting templates on every plan; the page showed Canadian dollars to our reading location |
| Fresha | US price could not be read | Independent: one team member | Team plan billed per bookable team member |
Two patterns fall out of that table. Apart from MassageBook, whose $20 Transition plan includes basic SOAP notes, the lowest entry prices belong to platforms that lead with booking rather than charting. The platforms built around charting start higher and, as the team table below shows, climb faster per therapist. Choosing the best massage software is really a decision about which of those two jobs you are paying for, and only then about price.
Why does the advertised price rarely survive your first full month?
Because two entry plans cap appointments and several leave out text reminders. ClinicSense Lite and Jane Balance each allow 20 appointments a month, about five a week, and Acuity Scheduling’s $20 Starter sends email reminders only, according to their pricing pages read September 25 and 28, 2026.
ClinicSense Lite is $39 a month for “Up to 20 appointments/mo.” Jane’s Balance plan lists a “Single practitioner profile” and is “Limited to 20 appointments / month.” A therapist seeing three clients a day, four days a week, books roughly 48 appointments a month and has already outgrown both plans.
ClinicSense is explicit about the consequence. Its pricing page says: “Only once you’ve gone over the number of included appointments 2 months in a row will you advance to the next plan.” That next plan is Standard at $69, which allows up to 200 appointments a month.
Text reminders are the second gap. ClinicSense Lite sends email reminders, and text message reminders begin on Standard. Acuity Scheduling’s $20 Starter plan sends email reminders only, and text reminders start on Standard at $34 a month (see Acuity Scheduling pricing). Noterro Core lists email reminders; text and call reminders start on Plus at $55, which Noterro says includes 500 text messages a month. MassageBook adds text and email appointment reminders on Practice at $59. For a service where a missed hour is an unrecoverable hour, text reminders are not a feature to skip.
The advertised price is not the price a full-time therapist pays
For a full-time solo therapist, the first usable plan costs $14 to $39 a month more than the advertised price on four platforms: Acuity Scheduling $34, Noterro $55, MassageBook $59 and ClinicSense $69, from pricing pages read September 25 and 28, 2026.
Table 2. Advertised starting price and the first plan a full-time solo therapist can use, monthly billing. Acuity Scheduling read September 25, 2026; MassageBook, Noterro and ClinicSense read September 28, 2026.
| Platform | Advertised starting price | First plan a full-time solo therapist can use | What that plan adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| MassageBook | $20 Transition | $59 Practice | Text and email appointment reminders |
| Acuity Scheduling | $20 Starter | $34 Standard | Text reminders, up to 6 calendars |
| Noterro | $33 Core | $55 Plus | Text and call reminders, 500 texts a month |
| ClinicSense | $39 Lite | $69 Standard | Up to 200 appointments a month and SMS reminders |
Across a year that gap is $168 to $468. On MassageBook the upgrade also brings client intake forms and premium SOAP notes; on ClinicSense it lifts the monthly limit from 20 appointments to 200.
What does the best massage therapy software cost for a team?
Per-therapist pricing decides the bill once you add a second table. Read September 25 and 28, 2026, three therapists cost $34 a month on Acuity Scheduling Standard, $43.99 on Vagaro’s limited-time rate, $59.40 on Noterro Core and $109 on ClinicSense Standard, subscription only.
Each vendor publishes its own rule for added therapists, and the rules are not comparable at a glance:
- ClinicSense adds $20 a month per additional practitioner on Standard and Premium; Lite lists additional practitioners as “N/A.”
- Noterro adds $13.20 a month per additional practitioner seat on Core, $22 on Plus and $27.50 on Max.
- Jane’s Practice plan includes one full-time practitioner and adds a monthly fee for each added practitioner, with a lower rate for part-time staff working “less than 24 booked hours per week.” Its page showed Canadian dollars to our reading location, so we print no Jane amounts.
- Fresha’s Team plan is billed per bookable team member; its US price could not be read.
- Vagaro includes one calendar in its $23.99 limited-time rate and charges $10 a month for each added employee calendar up to seven licenses, after which new employees are added “at no additional charge” (Vagaro pricing).
- Acuity Scheduling bills by calendar tier: Starter covers one calendar, Standard up to six and Premium, at $61 a month, up to 36.
- MassageBook prices by plan rather than by therapist, and its $99 Clinic plan lists “Unlimited Staff Seats.”
Table 3. Monthly subscription by number of bookable massage therapists: one location, monthly billing, the cheapest plan without a 20-appointment cap, subscription only (no card processing, texts or add-ons). ClinicSense Standard includes up to 200 appointments a month; Premium ($99, plus $20 per added practitioner) is unlimited. Vagaro and Acuity Scheduling read September 25, 2026; Noterro and ClinicSense read September 28, 2026. MassageBook is left out because only its Clinic plan lists staff seats, and Jane and Fresha because we could not read US prices.
| Bookable therapists | Vagaro (limited-time rate) | Acuity Scheduling | Noterro Core | ClinicSense Standard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $23.99 | $20 (Starter) | $33.00 | $69 |
| 2 | $33.99 | $34 (Standard) | $46.20 | $89 |
| 3 | $43.99 | $34 (Standard) | $59.40 | $109 |
| 4 | $53.99 | $34 (Standard) | $72.60 | $129 |
| 5 | $63.99 | $34 (Standard) | $85.80 | $149 |
| 6 | $73.99 | $34 (Standard) | $99.00 | $169 |
| 7 | $83.99 | $61 (Premium) | $112.20 | $189 |
| 8 | $83.99 | $61 (Premium) | $125.40 | $209 |
At five therapists the spread runs from $34 (Acuity Scheduling Standard) to $149 (ClinicSense Standard). Acuity Scheduling stays at $34 from two to six calendars, which is why its line is flat until Premium at seven.
One caveat on the Vagaro line. The $23.99 base is a limited-time rate, and Vagaro’s help center publishes the per-calendar rule but never prints a seven-calendar total. The $83.99 in Figure 2 is arithmetic on that rule, not a figure Vagaro states.
Front desk staff are worth checking separately, because the vendors treat them differently. Jane lists “Unlimited admins & locations” on every plan. Vagaro charges a license fee for each “Service Provider”; an “Account Admin,” such as a receptionist, “typically doesn’t have their own calendar,” and giving an admin a calendar “requires another Vagaro license” (help center, read September 27, 2026). ClinicSense includes five office staff on Standard and 15 on Premium. Noterro lists unlimited assistants on Core, and its higher plans include everything in Core.
Charting platform or booking platform: which do you need?
Decide first whether you want treatment notes inside your booking tool. ClinicSense, Noterro and Jane include charting on every plan, and MassageBook adds basic SOAP notes from its $20 Transition plan; Vagaro and Acuity Scheduling lead with booking, reminders and payments on their pricing pages (read September 25 and 28, 2026).
The charting platforms are ClinicSense, Noterro and Jane. All three include treatment notes on their entry tier rather than gating charting behind an upgrade, and all three charge more for each practitioner you add.
The booking-led platforms are Vagaro, Acuity Scheduling and Fresha. They are built to fill the calendar, send the reminder and take the payment, and they suit a practice that keeps its notes elsewhere.
MassageBook sits between the two. Basic SOAP notes come on the $20 Transition plan; premium SOAP notes, client intake forms and text and email reminders arrive on Practice at $59; and Clinic, at $99, adds unlimited staff seats and room assignment. Every plan includes online booking and a listing in the MassageBook directory.
One MassageBook detail is easy to miss: its pricing page gives AMTA members 25% off every plan and ABMP members 10%. That takes Transition to $15, Practice to $44.25 and Clinic to $74.25 for AMTA members (read September 28, 2026). If you already belong to either association, apply the discount before you compare prices.
If you land on the booking side, our guide to massage booking software covers setting one up. To add the listed card fees on prepaid sessions to each plan price, see our guide to the best online booking system for massage therapists. If the paperwork itself is the gap, the massage therapy consent form template covers the form.
Which platform fits which massage practice?
Match the platform to how you work. Read September 25 and 28, 2026: Noterro for a solo therapist who charts, from $33 a month; MassageBook for AMTA or ABMP members, from $15; Acuity Scheduling ($20) or Vagaro ($23.99, a limited-time rate) for booking and reminders; ClinicSense or Jane for a charting team that accepts per-practitioner fees.
- Choose Noterro if you work alone, chart every session and want charting on the entry plan: Core is $33 a month with one practitioner seat, and text reminders start on Plus at $55.
- Choose ClinicSense if you book fewer than 20 appointments a month now and expect to grow: Lite is $39, and Standard, at $69, allows up to 200 appointments a month.
- Choose Jane if you run a multi-practitioner clinic that wants charting on every plan and unlimited admins, and you accept per-practitioner pricing.
- Choose MassageBook if you belong to AMTA or ABMP: members pay 25% or 10% less, which puts Transition at $15 for AMTA members.
- Choose Acuity Scheduling if you mainly need a booking calendar: Starter is $20 with email reminders, and Standard, at $34, adds texts for up to six calendars.
- Choose Vagaro if you want a consumer marketplace listing with your booking tool: $23.99 a month on a limited-time rate, plus $10 per added calendar up to seven licenses.
- Choose Fresha if you want a marketplace and one price per bookable team member; its US prices could not be read from our location, so check our Fresha comparison and Fresha’s own page.

Where does Twizzlo fit, and where does it not?
Twizzlo is web-based online booking and appointment scheduling software for appointment-based service businesses, priced per business, not per therapist. Business Pro is $29.99 a month per business with unlimited bookings, 50 SMS a month then $0.03 each, and a 30-day money-back guarantee; Free is $0 a month for up to 150 bookings, with no SMS. Both plans include unlimited staff and locations.
From two therapists up, Business Pro’s $29.99 is below every total in the team table above; the closest are Vagaro at two therapists ($33.99, a limited-time rate) and Acuity Scheduling Standard at three to six ($34). At one therapist, MassageBook Transition and Acuity Scheduling Starter ($20) and Vagaro ($23.99, a limited-time rate) cost less. Its advertised and usable prices are the same: SMS is included and Business Pro has no booking cap. For a two-room studio that adds a weekend therapist, nothing changes on the invoice.
What it covers: online booking, automated email reminders with SMS on Business Pro, prepaid bookings (the full service price), online payments and tips, and a client profile with visit history, notes and preferences. The feature list has the rest, and the Twizzlo pricing page has the full plan breakdown. It does not offer memberships, payroll or commission tracking. Online payments carry your Stripe processing rate plus a 1.5% Twizzlo platform fee.
To price it against your own book, the massage therapy software page has Free and Business Pro side by side.
How we checked these prices
Every price here comes from the vendor’s own pricing page or help center, US pricing in US dollars unless a vendor showed another currency: Vagaro and Acuity Scheduling from our price registry read September 25, 2026, the other vendors re-read on September 28, 2026. No third-party aggregator was used, and we read public pages only, with no account or trial.
Currency depends on where you read. Jane’s pricing page showed Canadian dollars to our reading location on September 28, 2026, so this guide prints no Jane price. ClinicSense and Noterro set the currency label in the browser from the visitor’s location: both show the same numerals with a CAD label to Canadian visitors, and we read them as they appear to a US visitor, in US dollars.
What we could not verify is recorded as unverified rather than filled in. MassageBook prints no annual pricing. Vagaro’s help center prints no list price after its limited-time rate, no trial length and no subscription price for an added location. Acuity Scheduling publishes no Enterprise pricing. Fresha’s US prices could not be read from our location, and Jane showed us no US-dollar prices. Those are gaps in the public record, not numbers we estimated.
This guide compares booking, reminders and subscription cost, not compliance; confirm any vendor’s current terms on its own pages before you sign.
Frequently asked questions
How much does massage software cost per month?
For one therapist, $20 to $39 a month on the entry plans we read on vendors’ own pricing pages on September 25 and 28, 2026: MassageBook Transition and Acuity Scheduling Starter $20, Vagaro $23.99 (a limited-time rate), Noterro Core $33 and ClinicSense Lite $39. Jane’s page showed Canadian dollars to our reading location, and Fresha’s US prices could not be read. Twizzlo Business Pro is $29.99 a month per business. Team pricing changes the order.
Is there free massage software?
Twizzlo’s Free plan is $0 a month for up to 150 bookings, with no SMS. Acuity Scheduling has no free plan and offers a seven-day trial with no card (read September 25, 2026). ClinicSense and Noterro offer 14-day trials and MassageBook a 30-day trial, each with no credit card required (read September 28, 2026).
Which massage software includes SOAP notes on the cheapest plan?
ClinicSense Lite ($39) and Noterro Core ($33) include charting on their entry plans, and so does Jane Balance. MassageBook includes basic SOAP notes on its $20 Transition plan, with premium SOAP notes and intake forms on Practice ($59). Each was read on its pricing page on September 28, 2026.
Do massage therapists need HIPAA compliant software?
This guide compares booking, reminders and subscription cost, not compliance. Whether HIPAA applies to your practice is a question for your own advisor, and any vendor’s business associate agreement terms should be confirmed on its own pages before you sign.
What is the cheapest massage software for a three therapist practice?
On pricing pages read September 25 and 28, 2026, three therapists cost $34 a month on Acuity Scheduling Standard, $43.99 on Vagaro’s limited-time rate, $59.40 on Noterro Core and $109 on ClinicSense Standard. Twizzlo Business Pro is $29.99 a month per business at any team size. Jane and Fresha are left out because we could not read US prices. These are subscriptions only.
Does MassageBook give a discount to AMTA members?
Yes. MassageBook’s pricing page, read September 28, 2026, lists a 25% discount for AMTA members and 10% for ABMP members on all three plans. That prices Transition at $15, Practice at $44.25 and Clinic at $74.25 a month for AMTA members. The page shows no annual billing option.
Why do massage software prices online disagree with the vendor?
Because some comparison pages copy older price lists instead of the vendor’s current page, and some vendors show a different currency depending on where you read. Every figure here was read on the vendor’s own page on September 25 or 28, 2026.
What is the best massage therapy software for a solo therapist?
It depends on whether you chart. Read on vendors’ pricing pages on September 25 and 28, 2026, a solo therapist who writes treatment notes gets charting on Noterro Core at $33 a month, one practitioner seat included, and one who only needs booking can start on Acuity Scheduling at $20 with email reminders or Vagaro at $23.99 on a limited-time rate. AMTA members pay $15 for MassageBook Transition.
Which massage platforms cap appointments on their entry plan?
ClinicSense Lite ($39) and Jane Balance each allow 20 appointments a month, read on their pricing pages on September 28, 2026. ClinicSense moves you to Standard ($69, up to 200 a month) only after two months in a row over the limit. MassageBook, Noterro, Acuity Scheduling and Vagaro print no appointment cap on their entry plans (read September 25 and 28, 2026). Twizzlo’s Free plan allows up to 150 bookings a month.
Which massage platforms include text reminders on the entry plan?
On pages read September 25 and 28, 2026: Acuity Scheduling Starter ($20) sends email reminders only, with texts from Standard at $34; ClinicSense Lite and Noterro Core send email reminders, with texts from ClinicSense Standard ($69) and Noterro Plus ($55); MassageBook adds text reminders on Practice ($59); Jane lists email reminders on every plan and SMS reminders on Practice; Vagaro’s base subscription lists reminders by text and email. Twizzlo Business Pro includes 50 SMS a month; Free includes none.
