Twizzlo vs Mindbody

Mindbody's pricing page publishes a single figure: "Starting at $79 USD/month per location". It is a page-level floor rather than a price printed on any plan card. Mindbody's own page is explicit that it is not the whole bill: "Your total cost depends on your plan, number of locations, optional add-ons, payment processing, and transaction-related fees."

Two things follow. First, no total can be assembled from published figures above the entry plan, because Accelerate, Ultimate, the branded app, AI Concierge and the card rate are all quote only. Second, headcount is not a cost driver: Mindbody prices by location, with unlimited users per location.

All three plan cards carry the same call to action, "Let's talk", each pointing at the same on-page sales form. The hero subcopy reads "Connect with Sales to learn about available discounts that fit your studio's size and budget." There is no online checkout for Starter or for anything above it.

Starter's card shows no price. Its $79 USD/mo per location is confirmed first-party as the entry-level plan price, but only in Mindbody's own US pricing blog, read 2026-09-08, not on the pricing page. Accelerate is quote only, labelled "(Contact Mindbody for pricing)" in that same blog. Ultimate is quote only and badged "Best Value".

Discounts are real and sales gated: Mindbody says they exist but publishes no figure for them.

Booking confirmations and reminders by email and text start at Accelerate, so the entry plan does not send them. For a studio whose no-show rate is the reason it is shopping for software at all, that single line usually decides the tier.

The branded app is unavailable on Starter, and AI Concierge is unavailable on Starter, an Add-on on Accelerate, and included on Ultimate. Email and SMS marketing is Ultimate only.

On Twizzlo, email confirmations and reminders come on both plans, and SMS reminders come with Business Pro.

The Mindbody app fee. 20%, capped at $30, only on the first purchase, only for a client new to your business, and only when the app delivered that client. Listing on the app is free, and every later booking from that client is commission free.

The cap is where this gets interesting, because Mindbody publishes both numbers and leaves the arithmetic in a collapsed FAQ. 20% of $150 is exactly $30, so the cap binds at a $150 first purchase. Below $150 you pay 20% of the basket; at or above it you pay a flat $30. The effective rate therefore falls as the basket grows: on a $300 intro pack the $30 cap is 10%, and on a $600 pack it is 5%. A studio selling large intro packages therefore pays a smaller share than one selling single classes.

Setup fee. $0, on every plan.

Card processing. Not published. Mindbody Payments is optional rather than required, the rate varies by plan and comes by quote, and the payments product itself carries no monthly fee.

Mindbody publishes only the floor, "Starting at $79 USD/month per location", and no figure at all for locations two and up. Taken at that floor, two studios is at least $158 USD a month, three is at least $237 and five is at least $395, before add-ons, card processing and the app fee. Those are lower bounds, not quotes: Mindbody's actual multi-location pricing is sales gated and may be discounted.

Twizzlo Business Pro is $29.99 a month flat per business at every one of those counts, because locations are not in the formula. Against the published floor alone, the monthly gap is $128.01 at two studios, $207.01 at three and $365.01 at five.

Take one location at the published floor and three app-sourced new clients in a month, each spending $150 or more on a first purchase. $79 USD divided by $30 is 2.63, so it takes only three such clients for the app fee to cost more than the subscription: 3 × $30 = $90. That month is $79.00 USD + $90.00 = $169.00 on Mindbody.

The same month on Twizzlo, on $450 of card volume, is $29.99 flat plus the 1.5% Twizzlo platform fee, which is 0.015 × $450 = $6.75, for $36.74. The gap that month is $132.26. Neither side includes Stripe's or Mindbody's own card processing rate, because Mindbody does not publish one.

That comparison is deliberately unkind to Mindbody in one direction and honest in the other: the $90 in app fees bought three clients the studio would not otherwise have had, and Twizzlo has no equivalent discovery channel at any price.

• The consumer app is a real acquisition channel, listing is free, and the fee only applies to a new client's first purchase.
• Memberships, autopay, class packs and package builders are core, not bolt-ons.
• Room, resource and equipment booking, sold from Accelerate up, is what a cycling or reformer studio actually runs on.
• Unlimited users per location at $0 extra means a twenty-instructor studio pays the same as a five-instructor one.
• No setup fee on any plan.
• Premium implementation, custom data conversion and dedicated Technical Account Management exist as paid services.

Here is what Twizzlo does not do, so you can decide before you switch.

• No membership autopay and no package builder. This is the largest gap against Mindbody specifically, because recurring memberships and class packs are what most Mindbody studios run on.
• No room, resource or equipment booking, and no Pick-a-Spot equivalent. Mindbody sells both from Accelerate up. A cycling or reformer studio cannot run on Twizzlo.
• No consumer marketplace. Mindbody's app puts a business in front of what Mindbody describes as 3M+ monthly shoppers, so the 20% capped at $30 fee buys something Twizzlo does not offer at any price.
• No marketing automation suite. Mindbody's Ultimate tier runs automated email and text campaigns and a lead pipeline. Twizzlo sends transactional SMS and email, not campaigns.
• No payroll and no commission tracking.
• No retail inventory.
• No in-house card processing. Twizzlo takes online payments through Stripe, and they carry your Stripe processing rate plus a 1.5% Twizzlo platform fee.
• No premium implementation, custom data conversion or dedicated Technical Account Management. Migration off Mindbody is self-serve.
