Twizzlo vs Setmore

Setmore Pro is $12 per user per month on monthly billing, or $5 per user per month billed annually. Setmore's header nav prints the annual figure as "$5*" with the footnote "*Annual pricing", and its comparison table shows the subscription row as $12 struck through to 5, against Free at $0 user / month.

The unit matters more than either number. Setmore charges per 'user', by which it means each staff member with their own profile, and each staff calendar counts as a user even where the owner or assignee does not have login permission. So the billable count is calendars, not logins.

Setmore Free is $0 and covers up to 4 users. Unlimited appointments is the first feature on the Free plan card, and Setmore's own comparison row "Unlimited appointments" reads Yes for Free as well as Yes for Pro. Free also includes a Branded Booking Page, a Branded Mobile App and team collaboration tools, including team messaging, team calendar view, individual login access, permission levels and team notifications.

The cap is on users, not bookings. Three staff sit inside the Free plan, so three staff on Setmore is $0 a month, not $36. Setmore states Free is "Up to 4 users" and Pro is "Unlimited users", but it does not publish an automatic upgrade mechanic or say what happens at the moment of a 5th invite, so this page does not claim one.

On booking volume alone, Setmore Free is more generous: Twizzlo Free covers up to 150 bookings a month.

Pro is not where team features start; those are on Free. Pro is where SMS reminders, recurring appointments, 2-way calendar sync, deposits, API access and removing Setmore branding start. Setmore's pricing page says only "2-way calendar sync" and names no providers.

Pro SMS reminders have no fixed limit, subject to a fair usage policy, and are Pro accounts only. Setmore also offers Pro on a $0 risk basis: try it risk-free for 30 days with a refund by request. That is a refund window, not an automatic free trial.

Card payments in the US are 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction, charged by Stripe, and Setmore states it adds nothing on top of that. Setmore's pricing page lists Square, Stripe, PayPal and LawPay as payment integrations, plus Tap to Pay and a cash register.

Twizzlo payments also run through Stripe, at your own Stripe account's rate, plus a 1.5% Twizzlo platform fee. So on processing alone, Setmore's card payments carry no platform fee and Twizzlo's do. Setmore says fees from Stripe vary by country; only US figures are recorded here.

The one published add-on that moves the monthly total is Live Receptionist at $99 a month, sold as a separate plan and available in the US only. Setmore offers it against both the Free and the Pro column, so a Free account with Live Receptionist is $99 a month.

Three users sit inside the Free plan's 4-user cap, so three users on Setmore is $0 a month. Past the cap the arithmetic is per user: on monthly billing at $12, six users is $72.00 and ten users is $120.00 a month. On annual billing at $5 per user per month, six users is $30.00 and ten users is $50.00 a month.

Twizzlo Business Pro is $29.99 a month flat at every one of those sizes. Against Setmore monthly billing the gap at ten users is $120.00 - $29.99 = $90.01 a month. Against annual billing at ten users it is $50.00 - $29.99 = $20.01 a month.

There is no single crossover, because it depends on how you let Setmore bill you. There are three zones.

Zone 1, Setmore Free, 1 to 4 users. Setmore $0/mo against Twizzlo $29.99/mo flat. Setmore wins on price at any team size inside its cap, because the cap is on users, not appointments. That holds only if you can live without SMS, recurring appointments, 2-way calendar sync, deposits, API access or branding removal.

Zone 2, Setmore Pro on monthly billing at $12 per user per month. 1 user is $12.00, 2 users is $24.00, 3 users is $36.00. Twizzlo is $29.99 flat, so $24.00 < $29.99 < $36.00 and the crossover falls between the 2nd and 3rd user. Twizzlo is cheaper from the 3rd user, by $36.00 - $29.99 = $6.01 a month, or $72.12 a year.

Zone 3, Setmore Pro on annual billing at $5 per user per month. 5 users is $25.00 a month, 6 users is $30.00. $25.00 < $29.99 < $30.00, so the crossover falls between the 5th and 6th user. At 6 users Twizzlo is cheaper by exactly $0.01 a month: over a year, 6 x $5 x 12 = $360.00 against $29.99 x 12 = $359.88, a gap of $0.12.

Here is what Twizzlo does not do, so you can decide before you switch.

• Setmore's Free plan advertises unlimited appointments for up to 4 users, where Twizzlo Free covers up to 150 bookings a month.
• Setmore Pro includes SMS reminders with no fixed limit, subject to a fair usage policy. Twizzlo Business Pro includes 50 SMS a month and then charges $0.03 per message, so a shop sending 400 reminders a month pays for 350 of them.
• Setmore states plainly that it charges no additional fee on top of Stripe's 2.9% + 30 cents for US users. Twizzlo adds a 1.5% platform fee on top of Stripe's processing.
• Setmore sells a Live Receptionist add-on at $99 a month, US only, so real people answer your phone. Twizzlo has no phone-answering service at any price.
• Setmore Pro lists API access. Twizzlo does not offer one, so that is a Twizzlo gap rather than a Setmore paywall.
• Setmore lists Tap to Pay and a cash register for in-person selling. Twizzlo takes payments and tips online through Stripe, and staff can record manual payments.
