Phorest Alternatives: 10 Best Salon and Spa Competitors Compared
In short
The best Phorest alternatives let you price your salon before a sales call, which Phorest's quote-only plans do not. Square Appointments and Twizzlo have free plans. Booksy, Timely, Vagaro and Mangomint charge more as you add staff, and Mangomint, Boulevard and GlossGenius charge more as you add locations. Zenoti, like Phorest, sells by quote.
- Phorest's US pricing page, read September 25, 2026, shows "Request a quote" on every plan and says Phorest does not offer a free trial.
- At one location, each tool's lowest plan covering five providers costs from $0 (Square Appointments Free) to $170 a month (Mangomint), read September 25, 2026.
- A second location raises per-location plans: Mangomint from $170 to $290 a month, Square Appointments Plus from $49 to $98 (read September 25, 2026).

Phorest publishes no subscription price: every plan on its US pricing page says "Request a quote." Each plan includes unlimited staff and unlimited devices, and the price comes from a sales conversation, not a list. This guide compares 10 Phorest alternatives on how they bill and what five providers cost, from each vendor's own pricing page read September 25, 2026. Twizzlo, which publishes this guide, is listed first; its booking and reminder features are described in its section. The comparison is research-based, not a hands-on test.

How we compared
We compared each platform on five criteria that matter to owners leaving a quote-based system. They are pricing transparency (is the price published, or do you need a sales call?), per-staff fees (does the bill grow when you hire?), multi-location support (and what each extra site costs), automated SMS and email reminders (included or metered?), and integrated payments (the processing rate you pay). We read every price on the vendor's own pricing page or help center on September 25, 2026, and Twizzlo's on September 27, 2026. Where a vendor publishes no price, we say so and print no estimate. Twizzlo publishes this guide and is one of the 10 platforms. We did not test the platforms hands-on.

Every plan includes unlimited staff and unlimited devices, and separate Med Spa plans sit on their own tab.

Because every plan is quoted, the cost depends on the conversation, not a published list. Every alternative below except Zenoti publishes prices on its own pricing page.

How to choose the best Phorest alternative for your salon

When you hire: Booksy, Timely and Vagaro charge per team member, staff member or calendar, and Mangomint charges per user. GlossGenius prices by plan, with Gold covering up to 9 staff, and Twizzlo prices per business.
When you open a second location: Square Appointments, Boulevard's higher plans, Mangomint and GlossGenius charge per location (GlossGenius at 15% off the plan price), and Twizzlo's plans include unlimited locations.
When you need new clients: Fresha charges a one-time fee on brand-new clients from its marketplace, and Booksy's Boost takes 30% of a Boost client's first visit. Vagaro's US help center lists its Vagaro Marketplace as free, and its optional Fill My Books program charges 20% when a new customer books for the first time and 5% when a returning customer books (read September 27, 2026). A full book may not need marketplace reach. For a wider look at the category, see our roundup of the best salon booking software.

Its US pricing page, read September 25, 2026, shows "Request a quote" on all four plans, Starter, Grow, Complete Advantage and Elite, and includes unlimited staff and unlimited devices on every plan. Texting is the only priced item: 5 cents per text, and 7,500 texts for $99 with 2-way SMS messaging.
What is the cheapest Phorest alternative?
Square Appointments Free and Twizzlo Free are both $0 a month. Square's US pricing page, read September 25, 2026, lists unlimited staff calendars on Free at $0 per location, so card processing is the main cost. Twizzlo's pricing page, read September 27, 2026, lists Free at $0 for up to 150 bookings a month, without SMS. Card volume and booking count decide which costs less.
Can I migrate my client data from Phorest?
Yes. Ask Phorest for an export of your client list and appointment history, and get it before you cancel. Two alternatives here list migration help on their pricing pages: Mangomint lists free onboarding and free data transfer (read September 25, 2026), and GlossGenius says it will transfer your appointments and client information after you fill out a form (read September 27, 2026).
Does Phorest charge for online bookings?
Phorest's US pricing page, read September 25, 2026, prints no online booking fee and no subscription price; its only printed figures are for text messages. Because every plan is quoted, ask Phorest in writing whether online bookings carry a per-booking fee in your region.
Which Phorest alternative is best for multi-location salons?
It depends on how you want to be billed. On pricing pages read September 25, 2026, Zenoti says multi-location pricing "is customized," Boulevard Premier is normally $325 a month per location ($260 on a fall offer for new customers), Mangomint is $120 a month per location plus $10 per user, and GlossGenius charges each added location the plan price at 15% off. Twizzlo's plans include unlimited locations (pricing page, read September 27, 2026).
Is Fresha still free?
No. Fresha's pricing page, read September 25, 2026 from outside the US, lists paid Independent and Team plans, with Team billed per bookable team member, plus a one-time fee on brand-new clients who find the business through its marketplace. We could not read Fresha's US prices for this update, so this guide prints none; check the current US plan on Fresha's own page.
Is there a Phorest alternative for medspas and clinics?
Yes. Three alternatives here print separate medspa plans on pricing pages read September 25, 2026: Boulevard lists Aesthetics plans, GlossGenius lists Medspa and Aesthetics plans, and Zenoti offers Medspa plans by quote. Phorest's own pricing page has a Med Spa plans tab. Ask each vendor what its medspa plan includes before you switch.
What is the best Phorest alternative overall?
It depends on the three questions in the how-to-choose section above. If you want one price whatever your staff or location count, Twizzlo Business Pro is $29.99 a month per business (pricing page, read September 27, 2026). Square Appointments Free costs $0 per location and takes in-person card payments (read September 25, 2026). If you need the software to bring you clients, Fresha and Booksy run marketplaces that charge on new clients.
Which Phorest alternatives don’t require an annual contract?
Phorest's US pricing page, read September 25, 2026, prints no contract terms, so ask about length and notice with your quote. On pricing pages read the same day, Mangomint says "We don't do contracts," Booksy lists "No commitment" and "Cancel anytime," and Timely says there are no contracts and you pay month by month. Twizzlo's pricing page, read September 27, 2026, lists Business Pro at $29.99 a month per business with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
What are Phorest's competitors?
Phorest's competitors in this guide fall into five billing groups. Zenoti sells by quote, like Phorest. Boulevard's higher plans and Mangomint bill per location. Booksy, Timely and Vagaro charge per team member, staff member or calendar. Fresha pairs paid plans with a one-time fee on new marketplace clients. GlossGenius prices per business by plan, and Square Appointments and Twizzlo offer $0 plans.
Does Phorest offer a free trial?
No. Phorest's US pricing page, read September 25, 2026, says it does not offer a free trial and offers a full product demo instead. Among the alternatives, Booksy's pricing page lists a 14-day free trial and Square's a 30-day free trial on Plus and Premium, both read the same day. Square Appointments Free and Twizzlo Free are $0 plans rather than trials.
The bottom line, and where Twizzlo fits
Every platform above except Zenoti publishes enough to model your monthly cost before you commit, which Phorest does not. Twizzlo has two plans priced per business, and both include unlimited staff and locations. Free is $0 a month for up to 150 bookings, with no SMS. Business Pro is $29.99 a month per business with unlimited bookings, email reminders and 50 SMS a month, then $0.03 each, and it carries a 30-day money-back guarantee. From our editorial policy
- Twizzlo sells online booking and appointment scheduling software, the same category we write about. Twizzlo appears in our comparisons and roundups, and we have a commercial interest in you choosing it.
- We do not publish invented quotes, studies, statistics, customer stories or product tests, and we do not imply hands-on use of a product when the research came from the vendor's public documentation.
- To report an error, email support@twizzlo.com with the subject line "Correction: [page URL]". Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, link a source.
Update history
- : Re-read every vendor price on the vendor's own pricing page or help center, replaced third-party Timely prices with Timely's own, corrected Mangomint, Boulevard and GlossGenius prices, removed Fresha figures we could not read for the US, and added a five-provider cost table at one and two locations.
