Dog Grooming Price List: A Template by Size, Coat and Booked Time
In short
A dog grooming price list should price each service by weight band, add a line for doodles and long coats, and show booked time. Across 15 U.S. lists read October 30, 2026, the median full groom started at $70 for a small dog, $85 for a medium dog and $110 for a large dog.
- Doodle lines added $0 to $30 to a same-size full groom on four lists; one shop's matched its standard price but booked more time.
- A medium full groom worked out to $28.33 to $60 per booked hour across eight shops' lowest prices, read October 30, 2026.
- Seven lists stated a cancellation window and four named or warned of a fee, but just one stated a dollar deposit.

A dog grooming price list tells a client what a groom costs, tells the groomer how long to block and leaves no doubt about extras. We read 17 lists that U.S. groomers publish themselves, then turned their prices and booked times into a template you can copy.
Once the list is set, our pet grooming software page shows how each service can carry its own price and duration. That way, a client who books a full groom gets a slot long enough for one.
What do groomers charge by dog size?
On October 30, 2026, the median full groom started at $70 for a small dog, $85 for a medium dog and $110 for a large dog. The median bath started at $45, $67.50 and $80. Those are medians of each list's lowest price, because many shops show a range.

Table 1. Prices as each groomer's own page showed them, read October 30, 2026. Where bands run past three tiers, the columns show a 15, 35 and 65 lb dog. Size bands are the full groom bands; bath bands differ on four lists: Primp My Pup under 25, 25 to 60 and 60 to 80 lb; Grooming By Brytany under 20, 21 to 45 and over 45 lb; Union Hill Canine up to 30 and 31 to 90 lb; Abriluxe's large bath price is its 55 lb and up line. Medians use 15 full groom lists and 14 bath lists with size tiers. The Fort Irwin list is dated June 1, 2026.
The spread is wide: small-dog full grooms started anywhere from $35 to $120, and large-dog grooms from $55 to $200. Both mobile services started above the median at all three sizes, which fits the extra cost of a van. Local lists matter more than any national figure, so read five near you before you set your own.
Size bands differ too. Most lists with stated weights end small at 20 or 25 lb, while medium stops anywhere from 35 to 60 lb. Say exactly where each band ends, so a 42 lb dog fits one line.
How were the 17 price lists chosen?
We searched for U.S. groomers' own price, policy and timing pages. We kept every U.S. list published by the groomer that showed dollar prices for at least three dog sizes and named at least one priced service. All were read on October 30, 2026. We filled in no form, booked nothing and coded each list from its saved page text.
That left 17 lists from 13 states. Nine sit on public booking pages on Goldie, and one on PocketSuite. Two are mobile services; the rest are salons or care facilities that groom, including a U.S. Army facility at Fort Irwin. This is a search sample, not a survey. Only the Fort Irwin list carries a date, so a read date shows when we saw a price, not when a shop set it.
Some lists we could not use. Camp Bow Wow, Woofie's, Petco and several small-shop sites refused our request that day. Two Dogtopia pages from our searches no longer loaded, and a third, like the PetSmart store page we read, listed no prices. Niy's Grooming Lab and Lucky Dog Mobile Grooming showed prices but no location we could confirm as U.S., and All Dogs Unleashed in Austin did not say which service its prices cover. Fluffy Paws in Denver lists prices by weight without naming the service, so it stays out of the price medians and appears for its add-ons.
How often to groom and whether to groom at home are pet-owner questions a price list does not answer, so we skipped them. Twizzlo publishes this guide, stays out of the tables and has its own section.
How much does a doodle or long coat add?
A doodle line added $0 to $30 to a same-size full groom on the four lists that allow a direct comparison, read October 30, 2026, and a long-coat bath added $10 to $40. Eight of the 17 lists name doodles or poodle mixes.
| Groomer | Line compared | Small | Medium | Large |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Union Hill Canine | Haircut, straight to doodle or curly | +$15 | +$30 | +$30 |
| Primp My Pup | Full groom, standard to doodle | +$25 | +$25 | +$25 |
| Le Pooche Pet Spa | Full groom, doodle or poodle add-on | +$15 | +$15 | +$15 |
| The Puppy Pawlor | Full groom, doodle or poodle line | +$0 | +$0 | +$0 |
| Union Hill Canine | Bath, short to long hair | +$25 | +$20 | +$40 |
| The Sniff Shack | Bath, short to long hair | +$10 | +$10 | +$10 |
| Haven Dog Grooming | Brush out, short to long or thick hair | +$20 | +$20 | +$20 |
Table 2. Lowest listed price for the coat line minus the lowest for the standard line, same size, read October 30, 2026.
The Puppy Pawlor's row needs a second look. Its separate doodle and poodle line matches its standard prices, yet it books 30 minutes longer for a small dog and 15 minutes longer for a medium dog. Its standard medium line also names doodles, at 2 hours 30 minutes, so the page gives two times for a medium doodle. Modern Dog Spa shows a coat gap in baths, with $35 for short hair and $50 to $75 for doodles and poodles. Grooming By Brytany puts miniature doodles on its medium line whatever they weigh, a simple rule to copy.
How long should each service be booked?
Book about 1 hour 45 minutes for a small full groom, 2 hours 30 minutes for a medium and 3 hours for a large, the medians of eight shops' booking pages read October 30, 2026. Six of those shops tier their baths by size, with medians of 1 hour 10 minutes, 1 hour 15 minutes and 2 hours 15 minutes.
| Groomer | Small full groom | Medium full groom | Large full groom |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grooming By Brytany | 1 h, $80 an hour | 1 h 30 min, $60 an hour | 2 h, $75 an hour |
| Lobo Lux Dog Grooming | 2 h 30 min, $36 an hour | 3 h, $35 an hour | 4 h, $37.50 an hour |
| Abriluxe Grooming | 2 h, $60 an hour | 2 h 30 min, $60 an hour | 3 h, $60 an hour |
| Soapy Paws Grooming | 1 h 15 min, $44 an hour | 1 h 45 min, $37.14 an hour | 2 h, $37.50 an hour |
| Modern Dog Spa | 1 h 30 min, $43.33 an hour | 2 h, $42.50 an hour | 2 h, $55 an hour |
| Rustic Spur Pet Parlor | 2 h 30 min, $26 an hour | 3 h, $28.33 an hour | 4 h, $23.75 an hour |
| Pawsitive Vibes | 2 h 40 min, $41.25 an hour | 2 h 40 min, $54.38 an hour | 3 h 30 min, $57.14 an hour |
| The Puppy Pawlor | 1 h 30 min, $40 an hour | 2 h 30 min, $30 an hour | 3 h, $33.33 an hour |
| Median | 1 h 45 min, $42.29 an hour | 2 h 30 min, $39.82 an hour | 3 h, $46.25 an hour |
Table 3. Booked time from each shop's booking page; the rate is the lowest listed full groom price divided by booked hours, read October 30, 2026. Each median is taken column by column.
Read those rates with care. A booking page shows the time a shop blocks, not measured work, and a shop that overlaps dogs earns more from the same block than the table shows. Le Pooche Pet Spa is left out because each full groom shows 30 minutes while its own text says sessions take one to two hours.
Still, the gap is the useful part. Lobo Lux starts a medium groom at $105 and Grooming By Brytany at $90, yet the lower price works out to more per booked hour because its slot is half as long. Before you trust a price, time five grooms of each size and enter what the clock says.
Which add-ons belong on the list?
List a line for any job that adds time, such as dematting, deshedding, nails, teeth and difficult handling. Groomers on these lists priced each of them separately on October 30, 2026. A full groom usually bundles the basics, so name what it includes.
| Add-on | Listed prices | Worth writing down |
|---|---|---|
| Dematting or mat removal | Modern Dog Spa $5; VCA Willow Creek $12.73; Fluffy Paws $15; Union Hill $20; Paws and Claws $15 an hour | Whether the fee is flat or grows with the time |
| Deshedding | VCA Willow Creek $30.84; Fluffy Paws $10+; The Sniff Shack $35; Abriluxe $25, $35, $45 by size | Which coats need it and the extra time |
| Nail trim alone | Rustic Spur $10; Le Pooche $10; Soapy Paws $12; Fluffy Paws $12 to $20; Haven $15, plus tax; Pawsitive Vibes $15; The Puppy Pawlor $15; Paws and Claws $15; Grooming By Brytany $20 | Whether it is included in a bath or groom |
| Teeth brushing or cleaning | The Puppy Pawlor $5; Fluffy Paws, Union Hill and Pawsitive Vibes $10; The Sniff Shack, Paws and Claws and Abriluxe $15 | Whether it is a brush or a dental product |
| Difficult or senior dog | Le Pooche $10 (mild anxiety); VCA Willow Creek $14; Soapy Paws $15; Union Hill $20 | Who decides, and when the client hears about it |
| Late pick-up | Soapy Paws $10; The Sniff Shack $25 | The grace period before the fee starts |
| Card payment | Fluffy Paws 3% | Any fee, shown before the client pays |
Table 4. Selected add-on prices as each page showed them, read October 30, 2026. Soapy Paws' figure is its special handling fee. The Sniff Shack shows two nail trim prices on one page, so it is left off that row. The lists also price extras not shown here, such as ear cleaning and flea treatment.
What should the deposit and no-show lines say?
State a notice window, a fee and what happens to any deposit. On October 30, 2026, seven lists stated a window, five at 24 hours and two at 48, while four named or warned of a fee.
Only Grooming By Brytany put a figure on it: a $25 deposit that moves to a new booking if the client reschedules at least 24 hours ahead, and is lost otherwise. A no-show or a cancellation inside 24 hours also costs 50% of the missed appointment. The other nine lists showed no cancellation terms on the pages we read, though a shop may keep them elsewhere.
For the wording, copy these lines and fill in your own terms. They are examples, not legal advice:
- Booking: A deposit of [amount] holds your slot and counts toward the groom.
- Changes: Give us [number] hours' notice and your deposit moves to your new date.
- Missed appointments: With less notice, or if you do not arrive, you lose the deposit and pay [percent] of the service.
- Late pick-up: After a [number]-minute grace period, the fee is [amount].
- Coat condition: Matted coats may cost more or need a shorter clip. We will tell you before we start.
Our guide to setting a no-show charge covers how to pick the fee and word the policy, and our piece on online booking and payments explains when taking money at booking helps.
What goes in a dog grooming price list template?
A usable template has one row per service, one column per weight band, a price and a booked time in every cell, and short notes for coat and add-ons. Copy the table below and replace the brackets.
| Service | Small (up to 20 lb) | Medium (21 to 45 lb) | Large (46 to 80 lb) | Extra large (81 lb and up) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bath and brush | $[price], 1 h 10 min | $[price], 1 h 15 min | $[price], 2 h 15 min | $[price], [time] |
| Bath and brush, extra for long or double coat | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] |
| Full groom, standard coat | $[price], 1 h 45 min | $[price], 2 h 30 min | $[price], 3 h | $[price], [time] |
| Full groom, doodle or curly coat | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] |
| Face, feet and sanitary tidy | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] |
| Nail trim | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] | $[price], [time] |
| Dematting | $[price] per [time] | $[price] per [time] | $[price] per [time] | $[price] per [time] |
Table 5. A copy-and-paste template. The booked times shown are the medians from this guide, and the bath medians cover all coats; replace them with your own.
Under the table, say what a full groom includes, that prices may change after you see the coat, and what your notice window is. Several lists in our sample warn that prices may change, including Wildflower Pet Spa, which says its final price comes after the groomer evaluates the pet.
How do you set your own prices?
Multiply the booked time by the amount each hour must earn, then check the result against five local lists. Set that hourly figure from your own rent, supplies, wages and unbooked time.
Here is a hypothetical example, not a measured shop. A target of $45 per booked hour and a 2.5-hour medium full groom gives $112.50 ($45 x 2.5), which you might list at $115. If a groomer earns a 50% commission, the shop keeps $57.50, or $23 per booked hour, on the same ticket.
For a wage reference, U.S. median pay for animal caretakers, the federal group that includes dog groomers, was $35,360 a year in 2025. That figure is Bureau of Labor Statistics data shown on O*NET, read October 30, 2026. It works out to about $17 an hour across 2,080 hours, before payroll costs and unbooked time.
Check tax before you post a price. Minnesota's Department of Revenue page, read October 30, 2026, lists most pet grooming as taxable there, with exceptions such as service animals, and Haven Dog Grooming shows its Pennsylvania prices plus tax. Ask your own state's revenue agency, then say on the list whether tax is included. Review prices at least once a year, and give clients notice before they rise.
Where Twizzlo fits
Twizzlo is web-based online booking and appointment scheduling software for appointment-based service businesses, and it turns a list like this into services clients can book. You can add separate services for small and large dogs when the time differs, and add buffer times for drying and cleanup.
Worked example: one groomer doing five dogs a day for 22 days has 110 bookings a month (5 x 22 = 110), inside the Free plan's 150-booking limit at $0 a month, with email reminders. Two groomers at the same pace reach 220 bookings (110 x 2 = 220), so they need Business Pro at $29.99 a month. It includes 50 texts; one text per booking adds 170 texts at $0.03, or $5.10, for $35.09 a month.
Online payments carry Stripe processing plus a 1.5% platform fee, so a $100 prepaid groom adds $1.50 before Stripe's own charge. See Twizzlo pricing for the current plans. Our roundups of the best pet grooming software and free dog grooming software options, and our booking software comparisons, cover other tools.
Twizzlo's prepaid bookings charge the full service price, so a shop that wants a partial deposit needs a tool that takes one. No-show fees are a setting you control, and you decide whether to keep or refund a prepaid booking when a client does not arrive. Twizzlo's /features/ page does not list vaccination tracking. If those limits suit you, you can start on the Free plan.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge for a full dog groom?
Start from your own booked time and hourly target, then compare local lists. Medians across 15 U.S. lists read October 30, 2026, were $70 small, $85 medium and $110 large, counting each list's lowest price, and the two mobile services sat higher.
Should a dog grooming price list go by weight or breed?
Weight bands are the easiest to publish, and 12 of the 17 lists we read on October 30, 2026, used them. Many also added a coat line for doodles, long hair or double coats. A breed list works if you name example breeds for each tier, as The Puppy Pawlor does.
How much extra should I charge for a doodle?
On four lists read October 30, 2026, a doodle added $0 to $30 to a same-size full groom. Time your own doodles first, because one salon's separate doodle line matched its standard price and blocked up to 30 minutes more.
How long should I book a full groom?
Eight booking pages read October 30, 2026, had medians of 1 hour 45 minutes for small dogs, 2 hours 30 minutes for medium dogs and 3 hours for large dogs. Those are blocked slots, so replace them with times from your own table.
Should a groomer take a deposit or charge a no-show fee?
Most lists we read did not: among 17 lists read October 30, 2026, four named or warned of a fee, and one of them stated a $25 deposit and 50% of the missed appointment. If you take one, write the rule down before the client books.
