Best Spa Booking Software in 2026: Real Costs Compared

Choosing the best spa booking software in 2026 is less about features and more about billing models. Every vendor promises online booking, reminders, payments and a calendar. What actually separates them is what happens to your bill when you hire a fourth therapist, and what you are asked to pay extra for once you are locked in. We pulled current list prices from vendor pricing pages in July 2026, compared seven platforms at one, three, five and ten staff, and wrote down where each one charges more than the homepage suggests. Twizzlo is our product. Its gaps are listed as plainly as everyone else’s.
Quick answer: The best spa booking software depends on your billing tolerance. Twizzlo runs day spas on one flat $29.99 plan with unlimited staff. Fresha bills about $14.95 per team member, Square gates no-show fees behind its $49 plan, and Mangomint starts at $165 with deeper spa operations. Verified July 2026 prices, fees and honest gaps below.
What should spa booking software handle for a day spa?
A single-location day spa lives and dies on a handful of jobs. Clients need to book online at 11pm without calling. The front desk needs one calendar that shows every therapist. No-shows need to cost the client something, not the business. And client records need to remember the details that make a second visit feel personal: preferred pressure, product allergies, the robe size nobody wants to ask about twice.
Beyond those basics, spas have three needs that generic appointment tools often skip. Treatment rooms and equipment can double-book even when staff calendars look clean, so room allocation matters. Intake and consent forms are standard for massage and skin treatments. And many spas sell gift cards, packages or memberships as a meaningful share of revenue.
This comparison scopes to day spas, massage studios and skin care businesses booking one appointment at a time. Hotel and resort spa operations shop in a different aisle, and medical spa software involves clinical requirements we do not cover here. If most of your book is massage, the notes on massage therapy scheduling apply too, and you can see how Twizzlo handles the vertical on its spa booking software page.
How much does the best spa booking software cost in 2026?
Sticker prices mislead because the platforms bill on different units. Fresha charges per bookable team member. Vagaro charges per calendar. Square charges per location and tier. Mangomint prices by provider band. Twizzlo charges one flat rate per business. The honest comparison is what each model produces at your headcount, so we computed it.

Mangomint Essentials covers 2-10 providers; Square Plus and Booker Starter bill per location.

Starred rows are list prices as reported by thesalonbusiness.com in July 2026; the rest were read directly from vendor pricing pages on July 17, 2026. Fresha localizes pricing by country, so confirm your own figure: when we loaded fresha.com/pricing from a Canadian connection it quoted CA$29.95 and CA$19.95 rather than US dollars.
Two corrections worth knowing. Third-party guides list Mangomint’s online processing at 2.90% plus 20 cents, but Mangomint’s own pricing page says 2.90% plus 30 cents, alongside 2.45% plus 15 cents in person. And Vagaro’s often-quoted $90 monthly cap for larger teams does not appear in the current third-party pricing breakdowns we checked, so we show its list math and flag the cap as unverified. At the premium end, TheSalonBusiness’s spa software guide reports Boulevard from $176 and Zenoti typically quoted between $350 and $500 per location.
The seven spa booking platforms compared
Each entry lists verified pricing, spa-relevant strengths, and who should pick it. Where a vendor beats Twizzlo, it says so.
Twizzlo
Twizzlo’s pricing is one flat $29.99 per month per business: unlimited bookings, unlimited staff, unlimited locations, with a free plan capped at 150 bookings a month that includes every feature except SMS. Prepaid bookings are built in, so a spa can require a deposit on any service and cut no-shows without an add-on. Client profiles track visit history, notes, total spend and allergies, which matters when someone is allergic to a massage oil. The first 50 SMS each month are free, then $0.03 per message, pay as you go. Payments run through Stripe, with tips at checkout. The features list covers booking rules, buffer times, walk-ins, self-rescheduling and multi-location control. What it does not cover is retail, rooms and memberships, detailed in the gaps section below. Best for day spas that want booking, deposits and client memory at a price that ignores headcount.
Fresha
Fresha bills per bookable team member, reported at $19.95 for a one-person business and $14.95 per member for teams in the US as of July 2026. Its old free-for-everyone model was retired; our July 13, 2026 check of fresha.com/pricing verified in-person processing at 2.29% plus 20 cents and online at 2.79% plus 20 cents, both competitive rates. Fresha’s real advantage is its consumer marketplace: spas get discovered by clients already searching the app. The trade-off is the new-client fee, reported at 20% of the first service with a $6 minimum for marketplace-sourced clients. Add-ons like loyalty and advanced reporting bill separately. Fresha beats Twizzlo on marketplace discovery and SMS cost, and its per-member model stays cheap for a solo. See our full Fresha comparison. Best for spas that want new-client flow and accept paying for it per client and per member.
Vagaro
Vagaro is reported at $30 per month for one calendar plus $10 per additional bookable user, per thesalonbusiness.com in July 2026. We could not verify this on Vagaro’s own site because its public pricing page did not load as a readable page when we checked, so treat the numbers as reported rather than confirmed. Vagaro’s strength is breadth on a budget: marketplace listing, memberships, packages and marketing exist in the product, though many conveniences are paid add-ons, with forms reported at $10 a month, text marketing from $20 and a branded app at $100. For a five-person spa the subscription lands around $70, more than double Twizzlo but with more commerce features included. Best for spas that want marketplace exposure plus memberships without premium-tier prices.
GlossGenius
GlossGenius publishes clean monthly tiers: Standard $28, Gold $56 and Platinum $168, with annual billing discounts, read from glossgenius.com/pricing on July 17, 2026. Every plan carries a flat 2.6% processing rate with no card-on-file or manual entry surcharge, which is the simplest processing story in this roundup. Its plan table lists forms and waivers, and places memberships, packages, waitlists and resource management among tier features, with availability varying by plan. Gold is positioned for teams under ten, Platinum for ten plus. GlossGenius beats Twizzlo on built-in forms, gift cards and marketing tools, and its flat processing can undercut Stripe-based rates for card-heavy spas. Best for solo estheticians and small teams that want a polished client experience with predictable processing.
Square Appointments
Square publishes three tiers per location, read from Square’s appointments page on July 17, 2026: Free at $0, Plus at $49 and Premium at $149. The catch sits in the tier gates. The Free plan cannot enforce cancellation policies or charge no-show fees; those arrive at Plus. Assigning treatment rooms and equipment so they cannot double-book is resource management, and that sits in Premium at $149 per month. Processing improves by tier, from 2.6% plus 15 cents in person on Free to 2.4% plus 15 cents on Premium. Square’s ecosystem is the draw: gift cards, loyalty, marketing, payroll, hardware and banking all bolt on. Square beats Twizzlo on retail, hardware and its marketplace app, and Plus at $49 per location is strong value for bigger teams. Best for spas already in the Square ecosystem, with the honest note that a spa needing room scheduling pays Premium prices for it. Full breakdown in our Square Appointments comparison.
Mangomint
Mangomint publishes $165 for Essentials covering 2 to 10 service providers, $245 for Standard up to 20, and $375 for Unlimited, with additional locations from $95, read from its pricing page on July 17, 2026. Memberships arrive at the Standard tier, and Forms and Charting is a $50 add-on. Unlimited SMS and email notifications are included at every tier, a real cost advantage for reminder-heavy spas. In-person processing is 2.45% plus 15 cents. Mangomint is widely praised for interface quality, and its feature depth covers retail, gift cards, packages and staff operations that Twizzlo simply does not have. The price reflects it: a five-person spa pays $165 against Twizzlo’s $29.99. Best for established day spas where retail, memberships and charting justify a premium subscription.
Booker and Zenoti for bigger spa operations
Booker, owned by Mindbody, is built around day spa operations: its site leads with managing bookings, rooms, equipment, staff schedules and inventory, plus gift cards, memberships and packages, and listing in the Mindbody consumer app. Booker publishes no prices; TheSalonBusiness reports tiers from $139 to $599 as of July 2026. Zenoti sells enterprise spa and salon chains a quote-priced platform with hybrid walk-in and appointment handling. Both beat Twizzlo comprehensively on spa operations depth, at several times the cost and with sales-call pricing. Best for multi-room spas with retail and membership revenue, and for chains.
What does three years of spa software actually cost?
Subscriptions compound quietly. At five bookable staff, the same calendar job ranges from about a thousand dollars to nearly six thousand over three years.
What a 5-person day spa pays over 3 years, subscription only (July 2026)
| Platform | Subscription cost over 36 months (USD) |
|---|---|
| Twizzlo ($29.99 flat) | $1,079.64 |
| Square Plus ($49/location) | $1,764 |
| GlossGenius Gold ($56) | $2,016 |
| Vagaro* ($30 + $10/user) | $2,520 |
| Fresha* ($14.95/member) | $2,691 |
| Booker* Starter ($139) | $5,004 |
| Mangomint Essentials ($165) | $5,940 |

Figure 2. Three-year subscription cost at five bookable staff, one location, July 2026 list prices, excluding processing fees and add-ons. Sources as in Figure 1.
Twizzlo totals $1,079.64 over 36 months. Square Plus lands at $1,764, GlossGenius Gold at $2,016, Vagaro’s reported list math at $2,520, Fresha at $2,691, Booker’s reported Starter at $5,004 and Mangomint Essentials at $5,940. The spread between the cheapest and priciest option is roughly $4,860, which is a treatment room refit or a year of a part-time receptionist. None of these figures include card processing, which ranges from 2.29% to 2.6% plus cents per transaction across this group, or add-ons like forms, loyalty and marketing that several vendors bill separately. If the flat-rate model appeals, the reasoning is laid out in appointment software without seat fees.
Where Twizzlo falls short for spas
Flat pricing buys booking, payments, reminders and client records. It does not buy the full spa stack, and pretending otherwise would waste your afternoon. As of July 2026, Twizzlo’s features page lists no gift cards, no memberships or packages, no retail or inventory, no intake or consent form builder, no email or text marketing campaigns, and no treatment room or equipment scheduling. Its SMS rate of $0.03 per message also runs higher than Fresha’s reported $0.02, a point we noted in our salon CRM comparison. If gift cards and memberships are how your spa banks December, Mangomint, Booker or GlossGenius will serve you better. If your rooms are the constraint, Square Premium or Booker handle allocation natively. What Twizzlo does own is the deposit-first booking flow: prepaid bookings on any service, on every plan, with the mechanics of a fair policy covered in our guide to charging for no-shows.
Which spa booking software should you pick?
A solo esthetician or massage therapist keeping costs near zero should start with Twizzlo’s free plan, which includes every feature up to 150 bookings a month, or GlossGenius Standard at $28 if forms and a designed client flow matter from day one. A growing day spa with two to ten staff and no retail counter gets the most calendar per dollar from Twizzlo at $29.99 flat or Square Plus at $49 per location, with the reminder that no-show fees need Plus and rooms need Premium at Square. A spa counting on new-client discovery should weigh Fresha, accepting the per-member bill and the reported 20% first-visit marketplace fee as customer acquisition cost. A full-service spa selling memberships, packages and retail belongs on Mangomint or Booker, and multi-location chains should shortlist Zenoti. If you also run nails or hair under the same roof, our best nail salon software roundup applies the same verified-pricing treatment to that vertical.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best spa booking software for a small day spa?+
For a small day spa that mainly needs bookings, deposits, reminders and client records, Twizzlo delivers those at $29.99 flat regardless of staff count, which was the lowest five-person price in this comparison. If your spa also sells memberships, gift cards or retail, GlossGenius Gold at $56 or Mangomint at $165 cover that ground better. Match the tool to the revenue you actually have.
How much does spa booking software cost in 2026?+
Published list prices in this comparison run from $0 to $375 per month. Free tiers exist at Twizzlo, capped at 150 bookings, and Square, without no-show fees. Paid plans span $19.95 for a solo on Fresha to $165 and up on Mangomint, with Booker reported from $139 and Zenoti quote-priced. Processing fees add roughly 2.29% to 2.6% plus cents per in-person transaction.
Do spa booking platforms charge commission on bookings?+
Subscription platforms like Twizzlo, Square, GlossGenius and Mangomint charge no per-booking commission; you pay the subscription and card processing. Marketplace models differ. Fresha's new-client fee is reported at 20% of the first service with a $6 minimum when the client comes from its marketplace, after which rebookings are commission-free. Always separate subscription, processing and acquisition costs when comparing.
Can spa booking software require a deposit at booking?+
Yes, and it is the single most effective no-show fix. Twizzlo includes prepaid bookings on any service on every plan. Square supports cards on file and prepayments, but enforcing cancellation policies and charging no-show fees requires the $49 Plus tier. Fresha and Mangomint both support upfront payment collection. Whichever platform you pick, publish the policy at booking so the charge never surprises anyone.
Which spa software handles treatment room scheduling?+
Room and equipment allocation is where day spas outgrow generic booking tools. Square offers resource management on its $149 Premium tier, assigning rooms, stations or chairs to services. Booker manages rooms and equipment natively, and GlossGenius lists resource management among its tier features. Twizzlo does not list room scheduling as of July 2026, so multi-room spas with tight capacity should weigh that gap seriously.
Is there genuinely free spa booking software?+
Two credible free options exist with different limits. Twizzlo's free plan includes every feature, unlimited staff and locations, and caps volume at 150 bookings a month with no SMS. Square's free plan has no volume cap but cannot charge no-show fees or enforce cancellation policies. Fresha retired its old free model and now bills per bookable team member, which we verified on its pricing page in July 2026.
How do I switch spa software without losing client history?+
Export everything first: client list, notes, upcoming appointments and gift card balances if you have them. Mangomint advertises free data import with onboarding help, GlossGenius offers a free data transfer service, and Twizzlo imports clients with manual creation supported. Run the old and new calendars in parallel for two weeks, move future bookings by hand, and tell regulars the booking link changed before they notice.
